An Odyssey Putter is a promise made. Sure, Odyssey design each of thier putters to help you slay more demons and sink more putts. But, they also design them to withstand any kind of punishment you can dish out and they back them up with an Odyssey assurance of quality. They rarely see a putter returned, but if you find a defect within a two-year period, it will repair or replace it. No questions asked. And that's a promise kept.
Model-7 (Modified mallet with weighted alignment wings, a double-bend shaft & a full-shaft offset) The Odyssey White Hot XG #7 Putter, commonly known as “The Fang”, is a modified mallet with weighted alignment wings, a double-bend shaft with full-shaft offset. It features the White Hot XG insert, the softest and most responsive in the Odyssey lineup. Inspired by high-performance golf ball technology, the multi-layer insert provides phenomenal feel and consistency. It combines two materials with different properties for a superior level of feedback, feel and distance control.
Unique Head Shape – Uncommon yet popular putterhead design with weighted alignment wings that inspired “The Fang” nickname. Elastomer Core Material – Soft for great feel and highly resilient to quickly get the ball rolling forward toward your intended target. Thin, outer striking surface – Firm for fine-tuned responsiveness.
I compared several types of putters by Odyssey, Ping, and some other brands. I have a straight putting stroke, so I get best results with a face-balanced model like the Odyssey White Hot XG 2.0 #7. Also tried the White Ice #7 but preferred the smaller size and feel of the White Hot. I don't need the higher MOI of the much larger White Ice. Both have very comfortable grips. As a bonus, the fangs come in handy for picking up the ball. However, when it comes to putters (or any club for that matter), try before you buy!
